Digital Strategy and Action Plan for Fenton History Center

A part of a four-person team, we collectively developed a digital strategy plan for our client, Fenton History Center. We worked with the director to understand their needs firsthand. Located in Jamestown, NY, the museum and research center was in need of their digital infrastructure and increased engagement with their onsite and off site offerings, all with the added challenge of managing through an active pandemic and a lean workforce (a common sentiment felt within the cultural heritage sector).

The research conducted for this project (of which I contributed to individually) included both qualitative and quantitative analysis in the forms of observations, interviews, PEST, SWOT, competitive analysis, and a personas study with journey mapping to assess Fenton’s website both holistically and functionally. We analyzed the website’s on-page, off-site, and technical SEO and assessed the top navigation taxonomy.

This project culminated with a full digital strategy and action plan. The challenges Fenton was facing provided a unique opportunity for us to arrive at more practical and creative solutions to solve their website organization, engagement, and digital growth concerns. The recommendations were greatly received by the client and were noted to be sensitive to their current resource and budget capacity.
